Legal Eagles Congratulate Firm Partner Barbara Peters on
Election to the Brevard County Bar Association’s Board of Directors
June 7, 2010 – Melbourne/Cocoa, Florida

Mario, Gunde, Peters, Rhoden and Kelley today congratulate firm partner Barbara Peters for her leadership and commitment to serving our community evidenced by her election to the Brevard County Bar Association Board of Directors. The Brevard County Bar Association has more than 600 members from the Brevard County area and is known for their work to improve the legal profession, the community in which they live and the administration of justice in society.

Ms. Peters was elected by the general membership of the group and will serve a term of one year on the board. During her term she will work to support the mission and tenets of the Brevard County Bar Association.

“Barbara has been a dedicated attorney here in Brevard for more than fifteen years” says Kenneth Rhoden, attorney and firm partner, “She has a wide base of knowledge and experience to draw upon as she serves her term with the Bar Association. I expect Barbara to find great success and to make valuable contributions to the organization.”

A solid background and education makes Ms. Peters an excellent choice for this position. She began practicing law in this area in 1995 after receiving her Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School with the prestigious Magna Cum Laude designation. Since then, Ms. Peters has assisted hundreds of clients with family and criminal law needs.

“Of course I am honored to be elected to this position,” says Peters, “it is this type of community work that is needed here in Brevard. I enjoy supporting many groups such as Justice Teaching, and Legal Aid so serving the Bar is simply a natural extension of my beliefs.”

Peters has been honored by the Brevard County Bar Association previously; In April 200 she received the Professionalism Award which is given for the tireless pursuit and practice of the highest ideals and tenets of the legal profession and for consistently demonstrating the essential attributes of professionalism: character, competence, and commitment.

The Lawyer’s visits and Speeches at SSU

Saudi Student Union (SSU) has invited two of Melbourne lawyers, Mrs. Barbara Helm Peters and Mr. Kenneth E. Rhoden, on Wednesday April 7 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm at 501OEC 118, Auditorium.

The first hour of the meeting stated with two excellent speeches from both lawyers and they highlighted the most important rules and regulations that the Saudi students need to be aware of. They also addressed some important topics such as:

· Traffic valuations and points deductionsa. How to clear them or minimize them
· Money issues with Car shops or care dealers, you are not happy with the service and you want your money back and you still facing some difficulty with them.
· If a police man, FBI, or a CIA agent come to your house and accuse you of doing something or ask you about something you don’t know about, how should you deal with them? And when should I contact my lawyer?

· What is our right?
· Immigrations issues
· Example and cases where the lawyers were a big support and help

The second hour was a question and answer session, and we had a great interaction between the students and the lawyers where they had the chance to ask about different issues and cases and get the first professional opinion.

We had more than 85 Saudi students attending the event.

In the end of the event and in behalf of the Saudi Student Union, Saud Altemyatt thanked both lawyers and handed them the trophies.
